Ken Carter started at Dimension Computing in 1996 and worked his way up from building PCs and repairing laptops to become their principal on-site technician; designing, building, deploying and maintaining network servers and workstations for many prominent businesses around the Ballarat district.

In 2002, Ken left Dimension Computing to take on the role of iT Manager for Gekko Systems. Gekko were then a small but rapidly growing business that needed a solid iT base to facilitate sales and support for the mining industry around the world. He had the privilege of overseeing and managing their growth from 2 servers and 20 workstations to 7 servers and over 100 workstations, with branch offices in Johannesburg (South Africa), Vancouver (Canada) and Santiago (Chile) by 2009.

Employees of Gekko were frequently involved in visits to mine sites around the world and required remote access to head office resources. At the time this was often challenging due to limitations in technology and the extremely remote locations involved.  Ken was able to successfully provide them with remote access and communication capabilities that enabled them to stay in touch with their support team in Ballarat.

In 2009, Ken took the opportunity of forming ZenithXen with his brother David, who is an expert at data cabling and communications. Ken’s personal field of expertise is in network infrastructure design, deployment and ongoing management. This encompasses server and router maintenance, firewalls and network security, electronic information management, as well as the repair and maintenance of networked workstations. He prides himself on being able to get to the root source of problems, fixing them quickly and permanently. Not just addressing reoccurring symptoms.
